Green Vancouver Organic Carpet Cleaning Tips That Actually Work

Buying commercial carpet cleaners and spot removers is risky business. As a Vancouver carpet cleaner, Angelo’s FabriClean knows that many solvents available in stores contain caustic chemicals, chlorine, or petroleum-based solvents that can harm expensive or antique rugs. That’s why Angelo’s uses professional grade green chemicals that are safe and non-toxic. However, there are some safe and effective spot removers that can be whipped up right at home.

The simplest standby is a mixture of vinegar and water. Typically, half-and-half will do, but for certain tougher problems, a three-to-one ratio might be required. Just spray as needed, let it sit, then blot up with a sponge soaked in warm, soapy water.

For a fresh and wet stain, try baking soda. Cover the spot completely and keep applying until the powder on top remains dry. Let set for about five minutes before vacuuming up.

For greasy stains, a mixture of water and dishwashing detergent is the way to go. It works exactly the for dishes, breaking up the oil and grease and freeing carpet fibres. But if it’s the stain is still wet, a drying method is preferable. In this case, substitute baking soda for corn-starch.

If the stain is particularly awful, then this heavy-duty mix might do the trick: mix a quarter cup of salt, borax, and vinegar into a paste and dab the stain. Leave it for a few hours until dry and then vacuum it up.

Eventually, there will be stains that are impervious to home remedies. When it’s time to call in the professionals, the team at Angelo's Carpet Cleaning will use their green chemical and products in tandem with fine industrial equipment to deliver powerful, precise cleaning.
