Frequently asked questions about how to clean carpet & carpet cleaning care
1. How Often Should I Clean my Carpet?
Cleaning carpets often helps to maintain its new appearance. Some people worry that cleaning too frequently will cause carpet to age more quickly, but the opposite is true. Allowing dirt to build up within a carpet’s pile will age the carpet prematurely
The majority of carpet manufacturers recommend cleaning by a professional cleaning firm, such as Angelo's Carpet Cleaners, at least once every 12 months.
2. Are your cleaning products safe?
Yes. We only use the best “green” products available. Our professional products are eco-friendly, non-toxic and biodegradable. They are safe for children and pets.
3. What method does Angelo's Carpet Cleaning use?
Hot water steam extraction is the method of choice by most carpet manufacturers because of its greater effectiveness for removing soils and leaving your carpet looking its best.
4. Can steam cleaning harm my carpet?
Not at all. In fact, steam cleaning, or ‘hot water extraction’ as it is called in the carpet industry, is the cleaning method recommended by most carpet manufacturers as the best, and most natural way, to safely remove embedded dirt.
5. How long will it take for my carpet to dry?
It normally takes 2 to 6 hours for the carpet to dry, but this depends on several variables including the thickness of your carpet, the weather, and the air circulation in your home. You can walk on the carpet right after cleaning, provided you wear clean socks or light-coloured rubber soled shoes to keep oils on your feet from getting into the damp carpet.
6. How can I keep my carpet looking good?
Vacuuming your carpet thoroughly every week will make a major difference in maintaining your carpet.
7. Can I walk on the damp carpets?
Yes. However, be careful walking from the damp carpet to hard floors as it will be slippery. Wear only clean socks or light-coloured rubber soled shoes. Do not walk on the damp carpet with bare feet or with leather-soled shoes, as these will transfer oils onto the damp carpet, and leave marks.
8. Does stain protection really work?
Yes. We would not sell a product that we do not believe in. We mix it properly and take the time to apply it correctly. Our stain protection product essentially seals fabrics (surface pores) to make vacuuming more effective, and to help keep spots from becoming permanent stains. It will not make your carpet or upholstery ‘dirt proof’ or ‘stain proof’ but it will offer the added protection against the possibility of permanent stains.
